Gifted students attend media workshop

Manama, Feb. 1 (BNA): The Gifted Students Welfare Centre affiliated with the Education Ministry has held a workshop titled the "Young Journalist" in association with Bahrain News Agency (BNA). The two-day workshop was presented by BNA Kids Supervisor, Mervat Ibrahim Mohammed, attended by media-gifted students. The lectures highlighted the characteristics of a journalist, success factors and must-have skills including reporting, photography, communication, interaction and expression of opinion(s). The gifted students were familiarized with the techniques of successful journalism, reporting, self-confidence, facing events, sense of sound judgment, patience, respecting other opinion, accuracy and credibility of conveyance and coverage. The schoolchildren were also familiarized with practical aspects and the various sorts of news stories and report, investigative reporting and editing. The workshop was received with positive response from the students which provided them with various models in the art and science of reporting. Questions and queries were raised by the students who wished for more of these useful workshops and lectures.
