Senior authorities of the Thai Education Ministry approved the organizing of the two-day fair at a meeting in Bangkok Wednesday, chaired by new Education Minister Suchart Thadathamrongwet, after which the authorities told journalists that the 10 areas of Thai educational development to be showcased include the government's policies on distributing personal tablet computers to first-grade students of primary and secondary schools, a one-district-one-scholarship project, a business-development fund for college students, educational preparations for the formation of the ASEAN Single Community and a teacher reform scheme aimed at solving teachers’ debts, promoting their standards and boosting their morale.
Other areas of educational development to be exhibited include a project to give high school diplomas to skilled workers, who are 18 years old and older, the development of quality schools, educational television and radio services, educational development strategies and vocational training.
There will also be a variety of discussions at the fair, after its inaugural event presided over by Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra at 9am on March 6. (TNA)
