Government to work with MPs to end violence in Thai far South

BANGKOK, September 5 (TNA) - The Thai government eyes to seek cooperation from concerned Members of the Parliament (MPs) to help quell violent unrest in the Thai far South. Government Spokeswoman Sansanee Nakpong told a press conference on Tuesday that Deputy Prime Minister Chalerm Yubamrung informed the Thai Cabinet at its weekly meeting earlier in the day he plans to invite southern Thai MPs of all political parties for a meeting at the Royal Thai Police headquarters in Bangkok to discuss and mobilize their recommended ideas for solving the persistent violent unrest in the Thai deep South. Meanwhile, Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra assigned 29 concerned agencies to speed up working out their proposed strategic development plans for the violence-plagued southern border region to be submitted to Deputy Prime Minister Yuthasak Sasiprapa for further consideration and action.(TNA)
