Green Tent Begins Ramadan Activities with Symposium on Islamic Endowment

Doha, April 03 (QNA) - The Green Tent of the "A Flower Each Spring" program, organized annually during the holy month of Ramadan began today, via video conference technology, with four seminars per week. The head of the program, Dr. Saif Ali Al Hajri, said during a press conference held on this occasion today, that the green tent is a platform for spreading environmental knowledge and community awareness, and those activities are in line with Qatar National Vision 2030 and its pillars of human, social, economic and environmental development, and benefit individuals and societies. He explained that this year, the Green Tent Program is full of many topics and life issues that affect all segments of society. A group of officials, scholars, and specialists in various areas are participating in discussions, pointing out that the program keenness to host experts and specialists from all countries to enrich the discussions. Al Hajri indicated that one of the new additions to the program this year is to host a guest of honor in each symposium, who will be one of the officials in the ministries and institutions related to the topic of the symposium, to inform the participants about the states efforts in various fields, as well as the recommendations of experts and participants in the daily symposiums will be presented on officials. He added that the tents first symposium will be titled "The importance of endowment banks and their social, cultural and health dimensions". The symposium will discuss the history of the Islamic endowment and its roles in the continued renaissance of societies, the social, cultural, and health role of endowment banks, in addition to legislation and its role in protecting endowments in Islamic and non-Islamic countries. He said that the role of endowments in Islam and Arab and Islamic countries is very large. Therefore, the tent was keen to highlight it during the first symposium. Because of its great importance, it will also host officials and experts in endowment matters. He pointed out that the tent symposiums will also address several social, health, economic and cultural topics, including Ramadan, chronic diseases and their relationship to fasting, the role of green technologies and industries in reconciling well-being and sustainability, the reality of technical education and vocational training in the Arab world, Olympic values in the lives of athletes, and the role of financial and business institutions in the transition to a green economy, and the contributions of cybersecurity to achieving security and ensuring sustainable development. The tent symposiums also address issues of water and food security in the Arab world to discuss the impact of climate change on it, the availability of water needed to achieve water security, and food security challenges in the Arab world, in addition to discussing the challenges of the Arab family in the era of globalization, and the history of pandemics and their impact on humanity. It will also shed light on topics related to Qatar's hosting of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, where the green tent will discuss on April 20 the contributions of civil society to the World Cup in Qatar. At the conclusion of the events, a session will be held, where poets of both genders will be hosted. (QNA)
