Gulf Gateway conference announced

Manama, Mar. 6 (BNA): The Minister of Foreign Affairs Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa received ambassadors accredited to Bahrain in the presence of the Executive Chairman of the Economic Development Board, Khaled Amr Al Rumaihi.
The meeting focused on the Gulf Gateway conference to be held in Bahrain under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister on May 8-10.
The minister expressed Bahrain's pride in the distinguished relations with the brotherly and friendly countries in various fields, praising the efforts exerted to strengthen these relations.
He said that the continuous developments and changes in the international economic environment and their repercussions on growth rates necessitate the adoption of policies that restore economic balances both internally and externally.
He underlined the need to continue structural reforms aimed at diversifying the productive base, attracting foreign investment, improving the working environment and encouraging the private sector.
Shaikh Kahlid lauded the strong investment environment of Bahrain and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, its security and stability, and its continuous efforts to bring in advanced technology and knowledge in all fields of production and services to enable it to compete globally.
He said that that the Gulf Gateway Conference is a manifestation of mutual cooperation and a tool to continue progress and prosperity at all levels, meet the various economic and financial challenges and strive to attract more investments to Bahrain and other countries, to support their economies and contribute to the creation and implementation of many projects in all sectors.
