Gulf Health Insurance Conference to kick off tomorrow

Manama, Nov. 17 (BNA): Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, Bahrain is set to host on November 18 and 19 the First Gulf Health Insurance Conference and Exhibition. The event will be held at Isa Cultural Centre under the theme “Developing the Health System: GCC Vision Towards Implementing Health Insurance”. The function will be organised by the Supreme Health Council in cooperation with the Health Ministry. The Cabinet hailed in its weekly session preparations for the event, welcoming participants from the region and the globe. Chairman of the Supreme Health Council Lt-General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa said the conference will witness large scale participation from the GCC countries and the whole world. He added former UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon and Director General of the World Health Organisation (WHO) Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus will also attend alongside the GCC Health Ministers, GCC Secretary General Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, the Gulf Health Council Director General Suleiman Al Dekhil and senior invitees. The conference is considered one of the major initiatives launched by Bahrain to boost regional and international cooperation in comprehensive health coverage.
