Gulf Press Union chief praises Bahraini media

Kuwait, Nov. 5 (BNA): President of the Gulf Press Union Khalid bin Hamad Al-Malik, has lauded the distinguished Bahraini media, and the long history of Bahraini press. He stressed that the media in Bahrain had started long time ago, and includes distinguished competencies. In a statement to the Bahrain News Agency (BNA), Al-Malik said that the second Gulf Female Journalists' Forum, organised by Kuwait’s Ministry of Information, in association with the Kuwaiti Journalists Association, will discuss the role of women in the media, noting that the event aims to empower media women across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, and increase their presence in media institutions. He added that forum aims to empower the Gulf women in the management of media institutions, whether in the fields of journalism, radio, television or websites. The second Gulf Female Journalists' Forum will kick off here today.
