Hajj medical committee holds first preparatory meeting

Manama, Apr. 17 (BNA): The Hajj Mission's Coordinative Medical Committee held its first preparatory meeting for the 2017 hajj season chaired by Dr. Ibrahim Obeid at the Health Data Office. The committee discussed its administrative and medical preparations for the hajj season 2017. The meeting also discussed duties of the Coordinative Committee as per Edict 11/2017 and the report on the committee's work in the preceding season. The committee also discussed the suggestions and recommendations mentioned in the 2016 report presented by the Head of Coordinative Committee. The meeting reviewed the Health Manual for Hajj and Umrah and other health publications which will be distributed to hajj contractors/caravans during the season. These books will include all the necessary health awareness tips and instructions that will contribute to maintaining the health of hajj pilgrims. The meeting also discussed the topic of vaccinations available for all hajj pilgrims at the Kingdom of Bahrain's health centres (HCs) in addition to medicines and medical items belonging to the Hajj Mission's Medical Committee and the procedures to pass them from the Kingdom of Bahrain to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Also, sub-committees have been formed under the Coordinative Committee and their duties defined to streamline the implementation of duties under the umbrella of the Coordinative Committee of the Hajj Mission.
