Half Thais think of loved ones on Valentine's Day

BANGKOK, February 13 (TNA) - A latest nationwide survey has found that the majority of Thai people thought of their lovers most on the Saint Valentine’s Day, which falls on February 14. The poll, randomly conducted among 1,104 samples aged 15-27 years old by the Bangkok-based National Institute Development Administration (NIDA), showed that 47.46 per cent of the respondents thought of their lovers most on the Valentine’s Day, followed by 38.13 per cent of them who most thought of their families. Most of the respondents, or 41.49 per cent of them, said they would give their loved ones special presents, 23.28 per cent of whom would select roses and lilies for their lovers. However, 33.51 per cent of the respondents acknowledged that they would only treat the Valentine's day like a normal day and would not buy anything for their loved ones. Most of the respondents said that they did not want to date any celebrity on the Valentine’s Day, but preferred to only hang around their loved ones or families' members, with 38.50 per cent of them sharing their views that having sexual intercourse with unmarried partners was inappropriate.
