Hamad Medical Corporation, College of Pharmacy at the National University of Science and Technology (NU) in Oman Sign MoU

Doha, April 04 (QNA) - Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), represented by the Pharmacy Department, has signed a memorandum of understanding with the College of Pharmacy at the National University of Science and Technology (NU) in the Sultanate of Oman. The MoU covers areas of cooperation in the fields of scientific research projects, training, and other common areas between the two parties.
The MoU was signed during a virtual meeting by representatives of HMC and the College of Pharmacy at (NU) in the Sultanate of Oman.
The MoU covers a number of areas of cooperation between the two parties which will include providing students of the College of Pharmacy at NU with hands-on training in clinical pharmacology and mentoring these students by competent staff at HMCs healthcare facilities. It also covers student and researcher exchange programs, conducting joint research studies, organizing scientific events and conferences, and training workshops.
Fatima Haidar, HMCs Chief Human Resources Officer, stated that the MoU will promote cooperation in many fields between the two leading parties and will be an exemplary partnership that will serve the interests of both signatories. Ms. Haidar stressed the importance of the MoU for the potential exchange of knowledge and expertise, particularly in the training, science, and research. She expressed confidence that the cooperation between the two parties will yield fruitful results.
The cooperation pledge between the two parties is an example of the partnership between academic and healthcare organizations in both countries, the State of Qatar and the Sultanate of Oman, aimed at improving training standards for pharmacy graduates and empowering them with the knowledge and skills in various pharmacologic domains to be able to excel in their future career.
Dr. Moza Al Hail stated that pharmacy students will be trained as per the highest academic and the professional principles applied at pharmacies across HMC facilities under the supervision of highly-trained and experienced pharmacists, where the students will be qualified and able to add value to the healthcare sector in the Sultanate of Oman. She reiterated the two parties commitment to organizing scientific seminars and conferences, training workshops, professional development programs, joint research studies, and student and researchers exchange programs between the two parties.
Dr. Moza Al Hail pointed out that the first batch of Omani students was scheduled to start training at HMCs facilities by early March 2022. She expressed her welcome of all students, on behalf of HMCs staff, noting that the stage was all set to start training these students and enable them to achieve the best outcome through their academic and scientific journey at HMCs pharmacies.
The MoU with the National University of Science Technology came to light following a series of agreements signed between HMC and local academic institutions including Qatar University and the College of North Atlantic, and with global institutions such the University of Colorado in the United States.
