Handmade roses popular in Trang

TRANG, February 13 (TNA) - For Valentine's Day celebrants in Thailand's southern resort Trang Province, artificial roses made from dyed rubber tree leaves have increasingly become popular among them, a windfall for a royally-supported provincial housewife club. The rubber-leaf handmade roses, the first of its kind in the Thai South, now appear to be a pioneer Valentine's Day gift for locals, with reasonable prices, 10-50 baht each or 250 baht each in bunches, in the wake a recent flooding which has damaged rose sources. According to members of the Sai Yai Rak housewife club in Trang, the producers of the initiated roses, they will continue to serve local Valentine's Day celebrants with the artificial roses next year, thanks to the encouraging demand.
