HE Chief of Qatar's Businessmen Association Hails 14th Arab Businessmen Forum

Doha , February 20 (QNA) - HE Sheikh Faisal Bin Qassim Al Thani , the Chairman of Qatari Bussinessmen Association (QBA) has highlighted the signifiance of the 14th Arab Businessmen Forum here kicked off in Doha earlier on Monday under the generous patronage of HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani. In an address before the inaugural session of the said forum, now in session in Doha, HE Sheikh Faisal Bin Qassim Al Thani made clear that the arab world is now facing a host of economic and social challenges in a time it also witnessing a great harmony under the arab spring which swiftly spread among some arab countries last year. These economic challenges are coinciding with social turbulances in almost all arab countries and are mainly aiming at ensuring labour opportunities through partnership between the public and the private sectors on one part and through attracting foreign investment on the other part conditioning on achieving security stability and overcoming bureaucracy which has been overwhelmingly hitting the arab world, said HE Chairman Of Qatari Bussinessmen Association (QBA) . HE Sheikh Faisal Bin Qassim Al Thani made clear that this would enbale the private sector to act through inventing joint investment funds between the arab private sector and the govenments for investment in the interior areas , the cradle of the arab spring. The state of qatar , HE Chairman Of Qatari Bussinessmen Association (QBA) ponited out has started to apply and put into force the vision of HH the Emir Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani for the year 2030 through the implementation of the 2011-2016 strategic plan which calls for achieving real partnership between the public and the private sectors and which aims at diversifying the national economy away from the oil and gas sectors. Elaborating HE Sheikh Faisal Bin Qassim Al Thani made clear that qatar has set forth clearcut goals including the services sector should contribute to by 38% in the state's gross domestic product (GDP) by the end of plan. HE the Chairman of Qatari Bussinessmen Association referred to the several investment opportunities available in Qatar in the health, education and modern technology spheres in addition to the good investment climate with the 10% tax rate , the best one in the region to be levied on the income of the foreign companies operating in Qatar.(QNA)
