Health cooperation with India discussed

Manama, Jan. 24 (BNA): Health Ministry Undersecretary Dr. Ayesha Mubarak Bu Enq received an Indian delegation headed by Telangana's Minister of Labour, N. Nayini Narashimha Reddy. The undersecretary affirmed the government's keenness and the ministry's plans to provide optimal medical services and to advance the health services provided to the Bahraini community. The delegation briefed the undersecretary and senior ministry officials about the new laws and regulations in India regarding the healthcare services sector and how Bahrain may benefit from the advanced diagnostic, therapeutic and rehab services, rare specialisations and potential for cooperation between hospitals in Hyderabad and Kerala in this regard. The two sides affirmed the importance of cooperation, exchange of medical expertise in training, research and human resources development via investment in the vast Indian expertise. The ministry will discuss and study what was offered by the Indian delegation in the health field and will communicate with them in whatsoever serves Bahrain's health sector, the Undersecretary affirmed.
