Health Minister attends GCC meeting on COVID-19

Riyadh, Feb.19 (BNA): Health Minister Faeqa bint Al-Saleh attended the GCC Health Ministers’ Council meeting which discussed the novel coronavirus (COVID -19). The meeting which was held at the GCC General Secretariat in Riyadh aimed to get updated about the readiness of the GCC member countries to avert the outbreak of the virus. The health ministers and the GCC Secretary-General attended the meeting which highlight the role of the health council in coordinating with the ministries in the member countries. GCC Health Council Chairman Dr. Salman Al-Dakheel delivered a detailed presentation highlight the precautionary measures undertaken by the member states to prevent any outbreak of the virus. The ministers who attended the extraordinary meeting endorsed several recommendations to avert an outbreak of the virus and step up coordination and cooperation between member states. The GCC Secretary-General commended the ministers’ keenness on combating the diseases and dealing with any developments to ensure the safety and health of citizens and residents.
