Health Minister highlights Bahrain’s efforts to combat COVID-19

Manama, June 10 (BNA): The Arab League Health Ministers’ Council has today convened for its 53rd session, which was held remotely due to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. Health Minister Faeqa bint Said Al-Saleh chaired the virtual session, which focused on combating the pandemic fallout. Egyptian Health and Population Minister Dr. Hala Zayed took part in the online session, along with other Arab ministers and Arab League officials. The minister commended the draft communique, stressing the need to translate it on the ground and take tangible steps aimed at strengthening Arab cooperation to deal with crises, disasters and epidemics. She commended the efforts being undertaken by Arab Governments to combat COVID-19 which affected most countries in the world, including the Arab states, stressing the importance of exchanging expertise and combating the pandemic collectively. She highlighted Bahrain’s successful efforts to combat the pandemic, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister. She underlined Bahrain’s contribution to global control efforts to contain the spread of the virus, stressed pre-emptive precautionary and proactive measures, to overcome the challenge in a manner that preserves the health and safety of citizens and residents, which earned the Kingdom international praise. She reiterated full support to the medical teams, who stand on the front-line to combat the pandemic and to protect the health of citizens in the entire Arab region so as to emerge from the crisis with the least damages.
