Health Minister receives regional coordinator

Manama, Nov. 2 (BNA): Health Minister Dr. Faeqa bint Saed Al-Saleh received Polio Outbreak Simulation Exercise Regional Coordinator Dr. Tariq Abdulrahman Al-Sayyed and discussed cooperation. The meeting was attended by Public Health director Dr. Mariam Al-Hajeri, Disease Control department Chief Dr. Adel Al-Sayyad and Immunization Unit Chairman Dr. Jalila Al-Sayyed. The Regional Coordinator commended Bahrain Polio immunization and routine vaccination and contingency measures which, he said, exceeds 95%, making the population safe from the disease. He stressed the importance of continuing strenuous efforts to promote and support immunization and monitoring measures under polio is totally eradicated all over the world. He hailed the dedicated efforts exerted by the Kingdom of Bahrain to develop human resources and provide qualified personality, commending the support provided by the decision-makers, the public and private sectors. The minister commended the efforts of the Regional Coordinator to support polio disease control programmes, stressed cooperation to further develop therapeutic services in Bahrain.
