Health Minister receives UAE ambassador

Manama, Dec. 6 (BNA): Health Minister, HE Faeqa bint Said Al Saleh, received in her office today the UAE Ambassador to Bahrain, HE Shaikh Sultan bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan. She congratulated the UAE on the 49th National Day anniversary, wishing the Emirati leadership and people further growth and prosperity. HE the Health Minister expressed appreciation of deep-rooted historical fraternal relations between both countries and the advanced level of bilateral cooperation at various levels. She also lauded bilateral cooperation mainly in the health field, pointing out the third clinical trials phase of coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccine, which was inaugurated in August through G42 company. Both sides reviewed the latest developments of the pandemic and Bahrain’s experience in providing the vaccine and the evaluation stages. They underscored the importance of continuous cooperation between the two brotherly countries to curtail the spread of the pandemic and enforce the necessary preemptive measures. They also reviewed the issue of coordination for electronic connection between the GCC Health Ministries regarding Covid-19 examination and vaccination certificates, in line with a proposal by the Kingdom of Bahrain. The UAE ambassador praised deep-rooted relations between the two brotherly countries, commending the level and competence of the health system in Bahrain and its well-recognised distinction in providing health services for citizens and residents. He also voiced keenness on boosting bilateral cooperation in various fields. The Health Minister expressed sincere thanks to the UAE ambassador for the visit, voicing keenness on further cooperation mainly in the health field. The meeting was attended from the UAE side by Commissioned Minister, HE Ali Yousef Al Nuaimi, and Assistant Undersecretary for Public Health, Dr. Meriam Al Hajeri.
