Health Ministry receives medical equipment

Manama, Jan.28 (BNA): Bahrain has today received a batch of hi-tech medical equipment for laboratory genetic testing, following directives from His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier.
Chairing the weekly Cabinet meeting yesterday, HRH the Crown Prince directed the swift provision of early screening devices to be used to detect the virus, as well as to provide the necessary equipment needed to ensure preventive control of the disease and deal with any potential development.
The Bahrain International Airport delivered the medical equipment to the Health Ministry’s laboratories to be used in the early detection of the coronavirus.
The ministry said that work is underway to link its public laboratories with major centres for disease control and international organisations in the world and communicate with them round the clock to get updated about the virus developments.
In a statement, the ministry stressed keenness on ensuring citizens and residents’ health, announcing that all border pre-emptive measures have been taken to avert any outbreak of the disease, in cooperation with all competent authorities.
The ministry is also following up the epidemiological situation related to the virus developments, preparing health guidelines on dealing with suspected coronavirus infections, in line with the World Health Organization (WHO) protocols.
It thanked citizens and residents for their cooperation and commitment to the guidelines, urging the public to seek all the information about the virus developments from official sources.
The ministry thanked all Government departments for their cooperation and efforts to beef up preventive measures to avert any outbreak of the viral disease in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
