Health ministry says dengue fever spreading in Thailand

BANGKOK, March 20 (TNA) - The Public Health Ministry’s Disease Control Department has warned the public on the spread of dengue fever in Thailand after more than 11,000 persons have been infected by the tropical disease since the beginning of 2016. Dr. Amnuay Gajeena, director-general of the department, said more than 11,000 persons were infected with the disease and 9 victims died throughout Thailand from this January 1 to March 13. Five provinces including Bangkok, Rayong, Samut Sakhon, Samut Prakan and Phuket recorded most patients during the period. Most patients visited doctors after suffering from the disease more than a week which had prevented doctors from providing them proper treatment. (TNA)
