HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman attends BDF's 29th Quran competition

Manama, Apr. 21 (BNA): His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, today attended the closing ceremony of the 29th Bahrain Defense Force (BDF) recitation of the Holy Qur'an and Knowledge of Islamic Studies competition, held under his patronage. Upon arrival, His Highness Shaikh Mohammed was welcomed by the BDF Assistant Chief of Staff for Human Resources, Major General Shaikh Ali bin Rashid Al Khalifa, Commander of the Bahraini Royal Special Force, Major General Isa Mohammed Al Rumaihi, the Religious Guidance Director, and a number of senior BDF officers. During the ceremony, HH Shaikh Mohammed highlighted the support provided by the BDF in organizing the annual event, which provides a platform to provide knowledge on the noble teachings of Islam. HH Shaikh Mohammed then congratulated the winning participants, and praised the outstanding level of proficiency demonstrated during the recital and memorization of the holy versus of the Quran. The ceremony began with a recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by a speech given by the Religious Guidance Director, Brigadier Salem Ali Al Buainain, in which he welcomed His Highness and extended his appreciation and gratitude for His Highness’ patronage of the closing ceremony. Brigadier Al Buainain also expressed thanks to the BDF’s General Command for organizing the ceremony and their continuous support to such activities that encourage and support Islamic teachings. Colonel Ahmed Isa Al Busmait then gave a speech on behalf of the participants, in which he expressed appreciation for His Highness’ patronage of the ceremony. Colonel Al Busmait also praised the efforts of the BDF’s Religious Guidance Directorate in organizing activities that promote Islamic principles and values. His Highness Shaikh Mohammed then greeted the panel of judges and distributed certificates and awards to the winners. His Highness also honored the Royal Bahraini Air Force as the unit with the highest level of participation. HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman was then presented with a commemorative gift by the BDF Assistant Chief of Staff for Human Resources.
