HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman highlights importance of preserving the cultural heritage of camel racing

Muscat, Feb.20 (BNA): His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, today attended the closing of the fourth Annual Edition of the Al Bashayer Arabian Camel Racing Festival, held in the Sultanate of Oman.
HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman was accompanied by the Deputy Prime Minister for International Relations and Cooperation Affairs and Personal Representative of His Majesty the Sultan, His Highness Sayyid Asa'ad bin Tariq Al Said.
HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman highlighted the importance of preserving traditional sports that reflect cultural heritage. In this regard, HH Shaikh Mohammed further highlighted HM the King and HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister’s commitment to promoting the Kingdom’s traditions, including recreational sporting heritage.
HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman noted that participating in regional cultural sports events helps preserve this sporting heritage for future generations.
HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman extended his gratitude to the event organisers of the fourth edition of the race, and the warm hospitality received during HH’s visit.
The Al-Tailat camels owned by His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman won first and second places in the main round of Al-Qa'dan, "Bundiqyat Je’dan Al Maftooh" (Al-Jabri) for Al-Tae'lat camels, and won the first and second place in the "Sin Al Leqaya" the third half (Mayhab).
A lunch banquet was held by His Highness Sayyid Asa'ad bin Tariq Al Said, in honour of HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman’s visit to the Sultanate and attendance of the Festival.
