HH Shaikh Nasser hails citizens' participation in elections

Manama, Nov. 24 (BNA): Representative of HM the King for Charity Work and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, today cast his vote in the parliamentary and municipal elections at the general polling station at the University of Bahrain (UoB). On the occasion, HH Shaikh Nasser said that Bahrain’s democratic experience is "unique at the world level", and is being continuously consolidated and deepened, adding that the democratic march is led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, who, he said, has placed Bahrain among the most advanced countries in the field of democracy thanks to his pioneering "Reform Project and its noble democratic goals." HH Shaikh Nasser asserted that Bahrain’s distinguished democratic experience has become a model to be emulated in fostering the values of belonging to the nation, noting that the electoral festival proves the importance of parliamentary and municipal work under HM the King’s Reform Project and its multiple benefits for Bahrain and its people. HH Shaikh Nasser went on to say that the political participation witnessed by the kingdom today through the voters’ high turnout in the parliamentary and municipal elections affirms the citizens’ strong belief in the integrity of Bahrain’s approach based on involving the people in the decision-making process, being the source of all powers. HH Shaikh Nasser expressed great confidence that the Bahraini citizens will choose the best candidates that would better represent them in the Council of Representatives and municipal councils in order to preserve gains and optimise accomplishments in various fields. HH Shaikh Nasser commended the tremendous efforts exerted by the High Committee to Oversee the Integrity of the Elections to prepare well for the democratic festival and ensure the success of the electoral process.
