Higher Education Council honours winners

Manama, Dec.11 (BNA): Bahrain Training Instiute (BTI) winners of the first national scientific research students for BA students have been honoured. The Higher Education Council (HEC) General Secretary held the competition in cooperation with the British Council and UK Science and Innovation Network (SIN). HEC Secretary-General Dr. Abdulghani Al-Showeikh took part in in the online ceremony and honoured the BTI winners Ahmed Musa Mahmoud Al-Awadhi and Sohaib Mohammed Munir. The virtual ceremony was also attended by UK Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain Roddy Drummond, British Council director Richard Rose, presidents and directors of universities which took part in the competition. BTI director-general Dr. Samah Ajjawi addressed the ceremony, congratulating Education Minister Dr. Majid bin Ali Al Nuaimi on Bahrain’s outstanding achievements in IEA's Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS). She also thanked Undersecretary for Resources and Services Affairs Dr. Mohammed Mubarak Jumaa’ for supporting the BTI team, hailing the HEC General-Secretariat’s initiative to organise the scientific research competition.
