His Majesty King Hamad praises His Holiness the Pope’s address at Sakhir Palace

Manama, Nov.3 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa welcomed the address delivered by His Holiness Pope Francis at the welcome ceremony held in his honour at Sakhir Palace, during the historic visit of His Holiness the Pope to the Kingdom of Bahrain. His Majesty noted the significance of the humanitarian values it carried, which stress on the importance of the principles of human rights, religious freedoms and labour protections. Speaking about the rooted principles and values of the Kingdom of Bahrain, His Majesty affirmed the longstanding commitment to protecting and adhering to human rights, through action and practise, guided by codified frameworks set out by the National Action Charter and the Constitution of the Kingdom of Bahrain to safeguard and implement them, while raising awareness through continuous thought leadership and constructive engagement. His Majesty confirmed that these commitments are widely endorsed and upheld by the Government of Bahrain led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, which works closely with Parliament to reinforce and implement them.
