HM King chairs Cabinet session, praises Saudi King’s visit

Manama, Apr. 8 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa chaired the regular weekly Cabinet session, attended by His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier. King lauds Saudi Monarch’s historic visit HM the King lauded the fraternal historic visit of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud to Bahrain last Thursday, expressing the pride of the kingdom’s leadership, government and people in the visit. HM King Hamad stressed that King Salman’s visit embodies the solid long-standing relations between the two sisterly kingdoms’ leaders and their constant coordination on various regional issues, Cabinet Secretary-General, Dr. Yasser bin Isa Al-Nasser, said in a statement following the session, held at the Al-Sakhir Palace today. Bahraini-Saudi leaders’ talks fruitful HM King Hamad informed the cabinet about his talks with the Saudi Monarch during the latter’s recent successful visit to the kingdom, noting that they aimed to bolster the distinguished deep-rooted Bahraini-Saudi relations and cooperation. HM the King lauded the distinguished regional and international status enjoyed by Saudi Arabia, under the leadership of King Salman, hailing its prominent role in facing the multiple challenges that jeopardise Arab and regional security. The talks between the two great leaders focused on brotherly relations, bilateral cooperation and regional issues of common interest, the session was told. Saudi supportive stances hailed HM King Hamad recalled with pride and appreciation the stances adopted by Saudi Arabia, under the leadership of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud and Crown Prince, Deputy Premier and Defence Minister, HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, in support of Bahrain, noting that that those honourable stances will always be remembered by Bahrain’s leadership and people, and will remainengraved in the national memory. Bahraini-Saudi Coordination Council welcomed HM King Hamad highlighted the importance of the Bahraini-Saudi Coordination Council in facilitating coordination and cooperation between the two kingdoms in all fields and at all levels, citing its role in following up on the work progress in joint economic, political, investment and military projects. In this regard, HM the King welcomed King Salman’s approval of the minutes of the establishment of the Saudi-Bahraini Coordination Council, noting that the Council is one of the cooperation mechanisms that embody the solidity of the Bahraini-Saudi relations. King informed about joint Bahraini-Saudi projects’ progress HM King Hamad followed up on the implementation progress of a number of Bahraini-Saudi projects and cooperation agreements pertaining to the economic, energy, trade and investment fields. In this context, HM the King was briefed about the progress of the Water Connection Project between Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, the King Hamad Causeway, which will link Bahrain to Saudi Arabia and facilitate their citizens’ movement, and the railway project between the two kingdoms. HM the King also gave directives to continue facilitating movement through the King Fahad Causeway, in cooperation with the competent Saudi authorities, so as to cope with the increasing number of passengers, until the completion of the King Hamad Causeway. HM the King also valued highly the role played by the Council of Representatives in defending the citizens locally, and the nation abroad. HM King appreciates government’s efforts HM King Hamad extended thanks and appreciation to the government, led by HRH the Prime Minister and supported by HRH the Crown Prince, for its remarkable efforts to continue building the nation and enhancing its progress in the political, economic and social fields. King informed about oil explorations HM the King followed up on the latest developments regarding the on-going oil explorations. In this regard, HM King Hamad was informed, through a report submitted by the Minister of Oil, about the results of contacts with mega oil companies and what has been achieved regarding cooperation between them and the kingdom in the field of oil and gas. King satisfied with sports, cultural events in Bahrain HM King Hamad expressed satisfaction with the increasing sports, tourism and cultural events hosted by the kingdom, citing the outstanding success of the 2019 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix in terms of organisation and high spectator turnout. King’s Ramadan wishes HM King Hamad prayed to Allah the Almighty to bless the kingdom, as well as the Arab and Islamic nations with more progress and prosperity during the holy month of Ramadan, expressing hope that communication and rapprochement will be strengthened during the holy month. King thanked by Premier for supporting government HRH the Prime Minister extended deepest thanks and appreciation to HM King Hamad for his constant support for the government, and keenness to enhance the joint projects launched with brotherly countries, given their importance in opening up wider horizons of bilateral cooperation. HRH Premier affirmed that directives will be given to ministries to submit periodic reports on the implementation progress of the joint projects with Saudi Arabia, affirming that the government attaches top priority to such joint ventures thanks to the distinguished status of Saudi Arabia, and in line with its keenness to strengthen joint cooperation with its commensurate with the distinguished nature of relations between the two sisterly kingdoms.
