HM King congratulated by Education Minister

Manama, Oct. 18 (BNA): HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa received a cable of congratulation from Education Minister Dr. Majid bin Ali Al Nuaimi on Bahrain’s latest achievement in the field of education. On behalf of the Education Ministry’s staff, the Education Minister extended sincere congratulations on Bahrain’s most recent achievement in the field of education under the royal leadership. The Minister said the latest report issued by the World Bank in October 2018 showed that the Kingdom of Bahrain has been ranked on top of Arab nations in the indicators of education and in the 47th internationally out of 157 countries, outdoing Iran, Turkey, Ukraine, Malaysia, Argentina, Brazil, and other countries. The Minister added the same report indicated the extent of development in the educational field, and that the Kingdom of Bahrain is the most successful Arab country in terms of investing in and developing its human resources. He expressed optimism that Bahrain’s children would be more productive than their Arab peers when they will be engaged in the labour market to contribute to boosting the national economy. He pointed out the Boston Consultant Group, in its July 2018 report on levels of well-being around the world, stated that Bahrain was ranked in the fourth position among the Middle East and North African countries with regards to Education Indicators, compared to its 12th position in 2011. The Minister pointed out the UN Development Programme (UNDP)’s report issued in September 2018, which classified the Kingdom of Bahrain among the countries with very high human development, ranking it 43 out of 189 countries and territories. He said the new achievement is added to the previous ones made at the human development level accomplished in the royal era. He took pride in the royal support for the educational process, noting HM the King’s Future Schools project and the Digital Empowerment in Education project, which have had a positive impact on promoting Bahrain’s international ranking. It has been ranked first internationally in the use of internet and education areas and introducing the same service to all public schools.
