HM King congratulated by Education Minister

Manama, Feb.5 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa received a congratulatory letter from Education Minister Dr. Majid bin Ali Al Nuaimi, on Bahrain winning the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (ISESCO)’s award for open digital educational resources, at its first session of 2018. The award came on the initiative of the ministry designated My Digital Library, which was implemented within the framework of the (Digital Empowerment in Education) scheme, which was directed by His Majesty the King to implement it during the academic year 2015-2016. The minister affirmed that Bahrain received this important international award as a consequence of this advanced educational project, which was the embodiment of His Majesty's vision. The award was announced by ISESCO on January 30, to support member countries' efforts to build knowledge societies, promote educational opportunities, integrate information and communication technology (ICT) in the teaching/learning process, and usage and dissemination of digital educational resources. The award aims at encouraging educational innovation in the member states, enhancing scientific competitiveness, and highlighting its creative abilities.
