HM King congratulated on new ICT accomplishment

Manama, Dec. 15 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa has received cable of congratulations from Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed, on Bahrain winning the top rank globally in the field of Information and Communication Technology (ICT). The minister extended congratulations to HM the King on the new achievement of maintaining the leading post at the level of the Arab region in accordance with the ICT development indicator for the fifth consecutive time within the 2016 Measuring the Information Society Report issued by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). He took pride in HM the King's support and keenness on uplifting the Kingdom of Bahrain in the telecommunication sector and other fields to reach competitiveness stages at the Arab and international regionally levels. He noted the launching of the Fourth National Telecommunications Plan that has boosted competitiveness among companies and set up foundation of upgrading the telecommunications sector. He wished HM the King abundant good health and happiness, vowing to spare no efforts to contribute to the national march of progress and development. HM the King, in a cable of thanks sent to the Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, paid tribute to the minister's efforts and those operating in the communication technology field who have contributed to promoting Bahrain's standing in various regional and international forums. HM the King stressed that maintaining the leading rank at the Arab level emphasizes the world's recognition of the successful efforts of those working in the communication technology sector. HM the King wished the minister success in serving the homeland and bringing more achievements.
