HM King congratulated by Shura Chairman on International Day of Democracy

Manama, Sept. 14 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa received a cable of congratulations from Shura Council Chairman Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh on the International Day of Democracy which is observed on September 15. The Shura Council Chairman praised the democratic approach adopted by HM the King to promote parliamentary work and political participation since the launch of the comprehensive reform march. He stressed the kingdom’s strides in developing its democratic march and broadening political participation, which gained regional and international praise. He also lauded the measures taken by Bahrain to engage all national competencies in the nation’s building, fostering democracy and ensuring respect of human rights and political freedom. The Shura Council Chairman commended the royal support to the legislative branch, stressing the Shura Council’s role in serving the nation and citizens and modernizing the legislative system. He pledged to continue working with utter responsibility to further promote democracy and map out policies and legislation to boost growth and prosperity and ensure a better future for the posterity.
