HM King, Egyptian President discuss bilateral relations

Cairo, Sept. 16 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa held a meeting at Sharm El-Sheikh today with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi. They discussed ways of boosting historical fraternal relations between both countries as well as regional and international issues of common interest. HM the King expressed thanks and respect to the Egyptian President for the invitation to visit the Arab Republic of Egypt and for the gracious welcome and hospitality. He lauded solid fraternal relations between both countries and their steady growth thanks to common keenness to boost bilateral cooperation regarding various issues. HM the King praised the great development strides witnessed by Egypt under the leadership of President Al-Sisi, describing them as an inspirational experience in achieving sustainable growth. He reiterated the Kingdom of Bahrain’s solidarity with Egypt and Sudan and its support to all steps aimed at protecting their legitimate rights and water security in the Nile River. He also stressed the kingdom’s support to all efforts aimed at reaching a binding agreement to resolve the issue of the Renaissance Dam and safeguard Egypt’s right to its water share in the Nile River. HM the King and the Egyptian President underscored the importance of joint cooperation to foster peace in the Middle East and provide a just, permanent and comprehensive solution between the Palestinians and Israelis in accordance with the two-state solution. They also re-affirmed support to the Saudi initiative to stop war in Yemen and reach a political solution to the crisis there. HM the King pointed out Bahrain’s interest in the ongoing developments in Afghanistan, stressing the importance of achieving peace and stability to the Afghan people and pointing out the kingdom’s efforts to provide urgent relief and humanitarian aid in Afghanistan. HM the King presented an invitation to the Egyptian President to visit the Kingdom of Bahrain which was accepted thankfully and will have its date fixed later. For his part, the Egyptian President hailed HM the King’s visit to Egypt, lauding his keenness to further promote fraternal ties between both countries. He also commended HM the King’s honorable stances, asserting Egypt’s appreciation of its distinguished relations with the Kingdom of Bahrain.
