HM King; HM Queen Elizabeth II attend showjumping ceremony

London, May 11 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa and Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom and Northern have today attend a ceremony to honour the winners of military showjumping championship, which was held yesterday on the Cup of HM the King, as part of the international Royal Windsor Horse Show.
HM the King’s Personal Representative, Supreme Council for the Environment (SCE) President His Highness Shaikh Abdulla bin bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, HM the King’s Representative for Charity Works and Youth Affairs and Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS) Chairman HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al-Khalifa and SCYS First Deputy Chairman, Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) President and Head of the Bahrain Athletics Association (BAA) HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa attended. He was accompanied by HH Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al-Khalifa, Chairman of the Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation, Supreme Council for the Environment Vice President.
Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar Al-Haj of Johor Province, senior officials, invitees, members of the delegation accompanying HM the King and equestrian sport fans were also present at the ceremony.
His Majesty King Hamad and HM Queen Elizabeth II crowned the BDF Military Sport Team which won HM the King’s Cup after winning the showjumping championship. Led by Khalid Al-Khatery, the team also includes Ahmed Mansour and Saber Salman. His Majesty King Hamad and HM Queen Elizabeth II crowned the winners in different other competitions.
HM the King crowned UAE rider Ghanim Said with HM the King’s Cup and congratulated him on winning the 120-kilometre-long endurance race.
HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa honoured the winners of HM Showjumping Cup as well as the top riders who took part yesterday in the 120 KM and 80km-qualification endurance races.
The Dubai Police Knights and the British Royal Army Cavalry stage shows which won the attendees’ admiration.
Majesty King Hamad expressed deepest thanks to HM Queen Elizabeth IIfor her kind invitation to attend this international festival, as well as warm welcome and generous hospitality.
He hailed the British monarch’s support and keenness on consolidations deep-rooted historic relations binding the two friendly countries and peoples, adding that Bahrain’s participation stems from solid joint ties based on longstaning legacy of understanding, friendship and respect.
He said that the annual participation represents a good opportunity to enhance competitiveness, exchange expertise and strengthen relations of friendship.
HM the King shook hands with Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar Al-Haj of Johor Province. The Dubai Police Knights captain and the BDF Military Sport team riders greeted HM the King, who thanked them on the outstanding results and fairplay in their competition alongside other contenders from Arab and European countries.
