HM King holds call with Jordanian monarch

Manama, June 18 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa held a telephone call today with Jordanian monarch King Abdullah II. They discussed historical fraternal relations between both countries as well as developments on the Arab and regional scenes. Both leaders emphasised the need for continuous coordination between both countries regarding issues of common concern. They spotlighted the latest developments in the region, including mainly the Palestinian issue, stressing the need to provide political solutions for regional crises and reiterating categorical rejection of any Israeli unilateral procedure to annex lands in the West Bank. They affirmed that such a step is likely to undermine chances to achieve peace and stability in the Middle East. HM the King reiterated the Kingdom of Bahrain’s support to the Arab unanimous stance against this illicit step which undermines efforts to achieve regional peace, security and stability. He also affirmed Bahrain’s full support to Jordan’s stances and lauded its historical role, under the leadership of King Abdullah II, in backing just Arab issues, including mainly the Palestinian one. He also praised the efforts of Jordan in supporting pan-Arab work.
