HM King issues royal orders appointing SCW members

Manama, Nov. 27 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa issued Royal Order 53/2016 appointing members of the Supreme Council of Women. The Council's members are: Dr. Shaikha Mariam bint Hassan Al Khalifa, Hala Mohammed Al Ansari, Shaikha Zain bint Khalid Al Khalifa, Shaikha Hessa bint Khalifa Al Khalifa, Mariam Ahmed Jamaan, Afnan Rashid Al Zayani, Massouma Abdelrassoul Isa, Dr. Shaikah Rana bint Isa Al Khalifa, Mona Ali Abdelrahim, Dr. Huda Hussain Al Maskati, Mona Ali Al Hashemi, Widad Radhi Al Moussawi, Shaikah Aseel bint Khalifa Al Khalifa, Dr. Sabah Saleh Al Junaid, Suzanne Abbas Mohammed, Amira Abdullah Mansour Al Qayyem. The term of their membership is three years. His Majesty the King also issued Royal Order 54/2016 re-appointing Hala Mohammed Al Ansari as Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Women (SCW) for three years in the same ranking stipulated in the Royal Order regarding the Council's establishment and its amendments. According to Amiri Order 55/2001 and to Royal Order 36/2004, the Supreme Council of Women must have a technical secretariat, led by its Secretary General who holds the rank of "minister", that assists the Council to carry out its business, presents the relevant suggestions to activate its jurisdictions, achieve its objectives, and lay its plans and programmes, as well as conveys the Council resolutions and recommendations to the concerned parties.
