HM King praises GCC lawmakers' achievements 1

Manama, Nov. 23 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa has stressed the importance of the role played by the legislative and shura councils of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries in enhancing joint GCC action, and cementing the brotherly relations, cooperation and complementarity among the member states at the official and popular levels. HM King Hamad lauded the efforts exerted by GCC lawmakers and shura councillors in defending GCC causes, and unifying stances for the best interests of brotherly GCC countries and peoples. HM the King made the statements while receiving at Al-Sakhir Palace today, the heads of the legislative councils of GCC countries, who are currently holding their 10th meeting in the kingdom. Heads of GCC legislatures conveyed to HM the King greetings from the leaders of their brotherly countries, and their wishes of further progress and prosperity to Bahrain and its people. HM King Hamad welcomed the heads of GCC legislative councils, and requested them to convey his greetings to the leaders of their countries, as well as his wishes of abundant good health and happiness to them, and of further progress and prosperity to their brotherly countries and peoples. HM the King wished the heads of GCC legislatures a successful meeting to enhance cooperation and coordination among legislatures in GCC countries and bring about more achievements and gains for the best interests of GCC states and their peoples. HM King Hamad lauded the important achievements attained by GCC legislative councils at the political, economic, social and cultural levels, praising their contributions, alongside other Arab parliaments and consultative councils, in strengthening ties with brotherly countries, championing Arab and Islamic issues and extending bridges of cooperation and understanding with the parliaments of friendly countries, which, he said, serves the interests of GCC member states. Heads of GCC legislatures and councils extended sincerest thanks and appreciation to HM the King for the gracious welcome and hospitality accorded to them. They also praised the facilities provided by the Kingdom of Bahrain to ensure the success of their 10th meeting which, they affirmed, will constitute a major step to consolidate the joint GCC march. They also lauded the leading role played by Bahrain to support and develop the GCC cooperation march. Later, HM King Hamad received a cable from the heads of GCC legislative and shura councils marking their 10th meeting hosted by the Kingdom. They extended profound thanks and appreciation to HM the King for the warm welcome and hospitality accorded to them in their second country –Bahrain. They valued highly the audience accorded to them by HM King Hamad, and hailed the royal directives and sound visions. They expressed sincere gratitude to the kingdom for hosting their meeting, praising the good organisation and preparations for the meeting. They wished HM the King abundant good health and happiness, and the Kingdom of Bahrain further progress and prosperity under his leadership.
