HM King receives Ambassador, Stone for Peace Association of Hiroshima delegation

Manama, Apr. 17 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa received, at the Al-Sakhir Palace today, the Japanese Ambassador to Bahrain, Hideki Ito, along with a delegation from the Stone for Peace Association of Hiroshima, led by its Board of Directors’ Chairman, Michio Umemoto. The delegation presented HM King Hamad with the "Stone for Peace" in recognition of HM’s efforts in promoting the values of peace, love and co-existence. HM the King welcomed the Japanese Ambassador and members of the Stone for Peace Association of Hiroshima, lauding their endeavours to spread the values of peace and tolerance among the peoples of the world. HM King Hamad expressed pride in the solid Bahraini-Japanese relations, and in the steady growth of the deep-rooted bilateral cooperation and joint action in many fields, in light of the two countries’ shared keenness to achieve the best for their two friendly peoples. HM the King asserted that the Kingdom of Bahrain is proud of its long-standing distinguished civilisational status and leading historical role in disseminating the values of moderation and toleration and consolidating rapprochement among various civilisations, cultures and religions. HM King Hamad highlighted Bahrain’s keenness to support all international efforts aimed at promoting peace, security and stability, being basic fundamentals that allow the entire humanity to make steadfast strides towards more progress and prosperity. HM the King lauded Japan’s successful experience in various economic, industrial and development fields, praising Japan’s major contributions to efforts to strengthen the pillars of security and peace worldwide, as well as its rich heritage and the various civilisations that existed in it throughout history. HM King Hamad extended thanks and appreciation to the Japanese delegation for offering him the "Stone for Peace", which is a symbol of love and peace. Members of the delegation gave an explanation about the "Stone for Peace", which, they said, is granted to heads of states that love peace and stability and spread the principles of tolerance. They also presented HM the King with a certificate carrying a pledge of peace from Hiroshima. Chairman and members of the delegation of the Stone for Peace Association of Hiroshima expressed thanks and appreciation to HM King Hamad for the gracious welcome and hospitality accorded to them, commending the efforts exerted by the Kingdom of Bahrain, under the leadership of HM King Hamad, and its constructive contributions to serving the issues of peace at the regional and global levels, wishing Bahrain and its people further progress and prosperity.
