HM King receives written message from Egyptian Foreign Minister

Manama, Mar. 11 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa today received a written message from Egyptian President, Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, pertaining to the distinguished fraternal relations between the two countries, in addition to the latest regional and global developments, and issues of common interest. HM the King was handed over the message by the Egyptian Foreign Affairs Minister, Sameh Shoukry, whom HM received at the Safriya Palace today. Shoukry conveyed to HM King Hamad greetings and appreciation from President El-Sisi, as well as his wishes of further progress and prosperity to Bahrain. HM the King welcomed the Egyptian Foreign Minister, and requested him to convey his greetings to President El-Sisi, and wishes of ever-lasting progress to Egypt. HM King Hamad expressed pride in the well-established fraternal ties between Bahrain and Egypt, as well as in the advanced level reached by bilateral cooperation at all levels, noting that such visits bolster joint cooperation, and enhance bilateral consultation and coordination vis-à-vis various issues to serve the top interests of the two countries and their brotherly peoples. HM the King expressed Bahrain’s solidarity with Egypt regarding its legitimate right to ensure its share of the waters of the Nile River, which represents a lifeline for the Egyptian people. HM the King also stressed the kingdom’s support for the good efforts exerted by the United States to reach an agreement between Egypt, Sudan and Ethiopia on the filling and operation of the Renaissance Dam, emphasising that Egypt’s security is integral to the Arab national security. HM King Hamad praised Egypt’s leading historical role in protecting Arab national security, preserving Arab interests and unity, as well as strengthening the pillars of peace, security and stability across the region. The Egyptian Foreign Minister praised HM King Hamad’s role and efforts to develop the Bahraini-Egyptian relations, affirming the pride of Egypt’s leadership and people in the authentic Arab stances of Bahrain, under HM the King’s leadership, towards Egypt and its people, as well as its honourable role in enhancing joint Arab action.
