HM the King urges international cooperation to overcome challenges

Manama, Nov.11 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa stressed the importance of international cooperation, based on communication, solidarity and peace to overcome challenges and crises. He urged collective response and an active and advanced international partnership that suits the present and looks forward to the future as the sole path for countries to achieve common goals and ensure a safe, prosperous and sustainable life for all humanity. HM the King delivered the keynote speech as he addressed today the opening session of the Paris Peace Forum, which was attended by French President Emmanuel Macron and other heads of states and governments. HM the King expressed thanks and gratitude to President Macron and the friendly French people, wishing success to the forum which has become an important world platform to exchange opinions and ideas and harness support to global peace. He described the international forum as a precious opportunity to explore a viable solution to overcome the challenges facing the world, above all the fallout of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and the climate change, and consolidate international cooperation, particularly in the field of scientific development and world good governance. “Global events and crises proved that close international cooperation, based on the firm pillars of communication, solidarity and peace, and through a collective response and effective world partnership, with modern visions and advanced ideas that fit the present and foresee the future, is the way for the countries of the world to achieve their common goals in providing a secure, prosperous and sustainable life for all mankind”, said HM the King. He stressed the importance for countries in the world to rise up to the challenge to meet the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, whose pace of achievement has been affected by the pandemic. He stressed the need to adopt constructive initiatives to help needy countries achieve the aspirations of their peoples for development and prosperity, through international cooperation and the United Nations. HM the King announced from this international platform that Bahrain joins the other countries of the world in their efforts to achieve international peace and security, and to build a more secure and stable world, with justice and equality, in which people can enjoy a free and dignified life and a brighter and more hopeful future, wishing the forum every success.
