The minister also praised HM the King’s honouring of Bahrainis who had attained landmark achievements at various international gatherings, during the same ceremony.
Al-Moayyad also paid tribute to His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier, for their interest in the youth and sports movement in the kingdom, which motivated Bahraini athletes to attain major accomplishments.
The minister extended heartfelt congratulations to HM the King, HRH Premier and HRH Crown Prince on the 18th anniversary of NAC endorsement.
In a statement, the minister said that NAC represented HM King Hamad’s forward-looking vision on building modern Bahrain, noting that HM the King’s Reform Project, which emanated from NAC, had ushered in a new phase of development and progress for all Bahrainis.
Through overwhelmingly approving NAC in 2001, the Bahraini people granted HM King Hamad full mandate to carry on the nation’s progress march to ensure security and social justice, he said.
Al-Moayyad pointed out that the landmark achievements attained by Bahrain during the “Year of Gold” provide a bright image of the response of Bahrainis to calls to raise the nation’s banners higher in various fields, paying tribute to HM the King’s Representative for Charity Work and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports Council, SCYS, Chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee President, His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, for his unwavering interest and personal follow-up on efforts to ensure a perfect environment for Bahraini athletes to reach podiums, and his personal keenness to contribute to bringing glory to Bahrain through winning the world Ironman Championship.
The minister also lauded the role played by the SCYS First Deputy Chairman and President of the Bahrain Athletics Association (BAA), HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa in the kingdom’s milestone youth achievements.
Al-Moayyad expressed deep pride in the multiple achievements attained by Bahrain during HM King Hamad’s prosperous era in various fields, including the youth and sports one, hailing HM the King’s endorsement of HH Shaikh Nasser’s approach, “the Charter of Gold”, symbolising Bahrainis’ deep-rooted features and characteristics passed to them by the fathers and forefathers, including dedication to serving the homeland, and resolve to defeat challenges in order to honour their country.
