Holy water procession rehearsal

BANGKOK, Apirl 11 (TNA) -- Interior Minister Anupong Paojinda led provincial governors and other officials to rehearse for the processions of coronation-related holy water from the Interior Ministry to Wat Suthat Theppawararam and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha. About 500 officials joined the rehearsal which started at the Interior Ministry at 5.30am. The 92-meter-long procession moved on Asadang, Bamrung Muang and Din Sor roads past the Giant Swing to Wat Suthat Theppawararam where the holy water will undergo a blessing ceremony. The procession that included 86 officials carrying vases of holy water, an army’s marching band and flag-carrying officials took 15 minutes on the 740-meter-long route. Later they formed another procession from Wat Suthat Theppawararam to the Temple of the Emerald Buddha in the Grand Palace. The procession took 40 minutes on its 1.94-kilometer-long route passing Din Sor Road and Ratchadamnoen Avenue. The real processions were set for April 18 and 19. Holy water will be kept at the Temple of the Emerald Buddha for the coronation of His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn in May. (TNA)
