Housing and Urban Planning Minister meets Egyptian counterpart

Cairo, Dec. 19(BNA): Housing and Urban Planning Minister Amna bint Ahmed Al Romaihi held a meeting with Egyptian Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities Dr. Asim Al Jazzar. The meeting was on the sidelines of the seventh Arab Housing Conference, being held in Cairo, Egypt, under the theme “Towards Smart Sustainable Cities that Achieve Quality of Life”. The two sides discussed joint cooperation to promote social housing and urban development between the two countres. The minister highlighted Bahrain’s efforts and initiatives to develop social housing for citizens in cooperation between the public and private sectors through the new funding programme. She shed light on the Government Land Development Rights Program, which aims to diversify options and increase the supply of housing units for citizens benefiting from financing services. Dr. Al Jazzar also highlighted his country’s plans and initiatives to provide housing services, based mainly on partnership with the private sector.
