Housing Ministry hosts US Congress staff delegation

Manama, Sept. 11 (BNA): The Housing Ministry has hosted a delegation of US Congress staff, on the occasion of their official visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The delegation was informed about the East Hidd housing project, including its infrastructure, constructed houses, waterfront and lanes to practise various hobbies.
The US Congress delegation aims to strengthen joint cooperation between the two countries, and collect first-hand information about the development projects witnessed by the kingdom during His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s prosperous era.
During the meeting, Director of Housing Projects' Construction and Maintenance at the Housing Ministry, Mohammed Rashdan, gave a presentation about the main housing projects and modern towns in the kingdom, lauding the depth of the solid long-standing relations and partnership between the two friendly countries.
The delegation was introduced to Bahrain’s modern towns and the services accompanying them. It also visited several completed units and facilities.
Members of the visiting delegation expressed their admiration for the kingdom’s housing march, and the importance attached by the government to housing since the 1960s, affirming that Bahrain boasts a pioneering experience in providing decent housing for the citizens, which deserves to be praised.
They lauded the housing projects provided for various segments, praising the efforts exerted by the Housing Ministry, through its partnership with the private sector, and expressed their admiration for the progress made in the five new towns.
