Housing Ministry starts distribution of 5000 housing units in 17 projects

Manama, Nov. 5 (BNA): In implementation of the order of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier to distribute an additional 5000 housing units before end of this year, Housing Minister Eng. Bassim bin Yaqoob Al Hamar announced that the ministry had started distributing the units today. HRH the Crown Prince issued his order at the Government Forum which was held recently. The Housing Minister voiced happiness of all the ministry staff about carrying out the current distribution programme, being the last phase in implementing the housing commitment included in the government work programme concerning the distribution of 25,000 housing units. He said the ministry succeeded to honour this commitment in line with the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the continuous follow-up of the government, led by His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa. He also stressed the ministry's keenness to maintain the same pace until full implementation of the royal order to build 40,000 housing units. The minister said that since the issuance of the order by HRH the Crown Prince to distribute 5000 housing units, the ministry has set up a task force to determine the distribution areas and the beneficiaries' lists. He stressed that the team was directed to maintain fast pace of the work and study all the lists to ensure the housing service reach the beneficiaries. He noted that the schedule to carry out HRH the Crown Prince's order consists of distributing housing units in 17 projects, including Al-Lawzi, Hamad Town, Al Ramli, Salman Town, East Hidd as well as the projects implemented in Juffair, Al Bahir, Khalifa Town and Tubli. The minister pointed out that directives were given to the team in charge of distributing the units to streamline procedures and accelerate them for the citizens in line with the government's directives in this regard.
