HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister receives the President of The Inter-Parliamentary Union

Manama, Dec. 30 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, along with the Chairman of the Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club High Committee, His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, today received the President of The Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), HE Duarte Pacheco, at Riffa Palace. His Royal Highness highlighted the importance of building upon the success of Bahrain’s comprehensive development plan, led His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister noted that strengthening cooperation between The Council of Representatives, The Shura Council, and regional and international legislative institutions will support the national parliamentary process and enhance the Kingdom’s legislative structure. HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad highlighted the IPU's efforts to enhance legislative work in support of sustainable development. For his part, HE Pacheco expressed his thanks and appreciation for His Royal Highness’s commitment to strengthening international legislative cooperation. HE Pacheco also commended the Kingdom of Bahrain's legislative work and the Kingdom's success in this field. The Speaker of the Council of Representatives, HE Fawzia Abdullah Zainal, the Chairman of The Shura Council, HE Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, also attended the meeting.
