HRH Crown Prince meets Bahrain Journalists Association’s new board of directors

Manama, Feb. 27 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, today met with the newly elected Board of Directors of the Bahrain Journalists Association at Riffa Palace. HRH the Crown Prince highlighted the importance of maintaining impartiality in journalism as well as the principles of transparency and openness which are key drivers of the Kingdom’s comprehensive development programme, led by HM the King. HRH the Crown Prince went on to emphasise the important role played by journalists in promoting Bahrain’s achievements, and ensure that citizens have access to objective news on issues of both domestic and international importance. HRH the Crown Prince congratulated the new board directors, under the chairmanship of Mrs Ahdeya Ahmed, on their appointment which attests to the advancement of women’s leadership roles in public and private sectors. The President of the Bahrain Journalists Association expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to meet HRH the Crown Prince, and for his recognition of the role of the Bahrain Journalists Association. The meeting was also attended by His Excellency Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, the Minister of Finance and National Economy.
