HRH Premier affirms Bahrain-UK strategic partnership

Manama, Sep. 26 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa today received at the Gudaibiya Palace the Chairman of the International Relations Committee at the UK House of Lords, Lord David Howell, who is currently on a visit to Bahrain. HRH Premier stressed that the Bahraini-British cooperation is strong, affirming the kingdom's support to common interests, and any steps aimed at bolstering the strategic cooperation between the two friendly countries. HRH the Prime Minister emphasised the depth of the long-standing Bahrain-UK friendship ties that stretch back over 200 years, expressing the keenness of the Government of Bahrain on consolidating relations with the UK and developing the existing partnership between the two countries to achieve common interests. The Prime Minister highlighted the importance of activating exchanged visits between officials in the two countries to discuss areas of bilateral cooperation and coordination, and activate the agreements signed between the two kingdoms. HRH Premier reviewed with Lord Howell the economic challenges currently witnessed by the world, as well as regional and global developments, and their impacts on efforts to reinforce security and stability, stressing the need to step up international cooperation and coordination at all levels to agree on common formulas that ensure addressing issues that pose a threat to the entire world. Lord David Howell voiced admiration for the kingdom's progress in various development fields, lauding the advanced level of the Bahraini-British relations, and the support provided by the government, led by HRH Premier, to open up new horizons of bilateral cooperation.
