HRH Premier congratulated by Al-Hurr chairman ON UNHRC membership

Manama, Oct. 13 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa has received a cable from the Chairman of the Executive Council of the Bahrain Free Labour Unions Federation (Al-Hurr), Yaqoob Mohamed Yousif. Yaqoob Mohammed Youssif extended to HRH the Prime Minister, on behalf of the Al-Hurr’s Executive Council, labour unions and Bahraini workers, sincere congratulations on the Kingdom’s winning of the membership of the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC) for the period 2019-2021 by 165 of the UN General Assembly. The well-deserved win is the fruitful outcome of HRH Premier’s constant directives on the need to respect human rights, activate all international human rights conventions and treaties and promote the human rights principles among the citizens and residents, citing the rights granted to the Bahraini and expatriate workers through advanced laws and legislation, he said. He stressed that His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s Reform Project, and the support of the government, led by HRH Premier, have contributed significantly to the kingdom’s success in reaching distinguished positions at the international level commensurate with its rich record in various fields, particularly human rights, citing Bahrain’s constitution and laws that respect human rights and related international treaties. He expressed strong confidence that Bahrain will always remain at the forefront, and earn global respect and appreciation, under HRH Premier’s leadership.
