HRH Premier congratulated by Arab Parliament speaker

Manama, Oct. 31 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa has received a cable of congratulations from the Arab Parliament Speaker, Dr. Misha'al bin Fahm Al-Salmi, following Bahrain’s winning the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC)’s membership for the period 2019-2021. Al-Salmi extended heartfelt congratulations to HRH the Prime Minister and the Bahraini people on the milestone, noting that the kingdom’s election by 165 votes of the UN General Assembly member states reflects the International Community’s appreciation of Bahrain’s efforts in the field of human rights consolidation, as well as its commitment to the international human rights conventions and covenants, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. The landmark vote is also the fruitful outcome of the tremendous efforts exerted by Bahrain at the regional and international levels to achieve global peace and security, and enhance its distinguished position and effective presence in the regional and international arenas, he said. Al-Salmi reiterated the Arab Parliament’s full solidarity with Bahrain -King, government and people, and backing of all the measures it takes to safeguard its security, people’s unity and territorial integrity against the Iran-backed sabotage and sedition schemes aimed at supporting terrorist groups and fueling sectarian strife to undermine national unity. He prayed to Allah the Almighty to bless HRH the Prime Minister with abundant health and happiness, wishing Bahrain and its people further progress and security.
