HRH Premier congratulates new BJA President

Manama, Jan. 26 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the Prime Minister, sent a cable of congratulations to Ahdeya Ahmed on her election as President of Bahrain Journalists Association (BJA). “We are pleased to express our congratulations on your victory as the President of the Bahrain Journalists Association in elections that were a satisfactory embodiment of democracy practices,” HRH the Premier said. “The elections reflected the responsible role of the press and the great trust in Bahraini women and their clear contributions in the media sector, just like in numerous other areas.” HRH Prince Khalifa stressed that the government will cooperate with the BJA in order to contribute to accomplishing further gains for the media based on its firm belief in the important role of the Bahraini national press as a beacon of enlightenment and awareness. “As we express our happiness with your victory, we extend our heartfelt greetings and congratulations to your fellow members of the board of the Bahrain Journalists Association on their election. We also express our pride in the democratic practices during the elections. We wish you and your colleagues success.”
