HRH Premier: Government keen to boost investment

Manama, Jan. 29 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa has affirmed that the world has become more optimistic and looks forward to a better future, given the positive trends of some countries and their clear desire to ensure a future based on peace, stability and strong international cooperation to achieve such a noble goal. While praising some countries’ understanding of the nature of the risks to the region and the attempts to undermine its security and social cohesion through foreign interference to fuel sedition that leads to violence and hinders its development process, HRH Premier lauded the new policies of some friendly countries and their positive and objective assessment of the situation in the region and the reasons behind the state of instability witnessed by some of its countries. The Prime made the statements while receiving Royal Family members and senior state officials. HRH the Prime Minister underlined the government’s keenness to put in place all the requirements for boosting investment and consolidating the kingdom’s status as an investment incubator, highlighting desire to constantly update and develop legislation and procedures commensurate with the requirements of economic development, particularly regarding investment activities. He also pointed out that the government is focusing its attention on investment to make it an engine of economic growth that stimulates comprehensive development, within the framework of its unwavering desire to diversify sources of income. Tackling other domestic issues, the Prime Minister stressed that the focus on development should go hand in hand with interest in heritage. The government seeks to ensure that the umbrella of development covers the whole nation, and, at the same time, it is keen to preserve the kingdom’s rich civilisational and cultural heritage, as well as activate heritage tourism, he said, highlighting the need to pay attention to historical and cultural heritage and the need to preserve it. In this regard, he praised the events aiming to highlight such heritage locally, regionally and internationally. HRH Premier also called for the need to enhance joint GCC and Arab action in order to ensure optimal dealing with various challenges.
