HRH Premier: Kuwait enjoys special place in hearts of all Bahrainis

Manama, Apr. 24 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa has stressed that the long-standing brotherly Bahraini-Kuwaiti relations embody the highest levels of fraternity and love, noting that Bahrain is keen to constantly enhance its relations with sisterly Kuwait in various fields. HRH the Prime Minister welcomed the holding of the 10th session of the Joint High Bahraini-Kuwaiti Cooperation Committee in Bahrain, and highlighted the importance of the meetings between officials from the two brotherly countries in strengthening bilateral cooperation and opening up wider horizons for the solid joint ties at all levels. HRH Premier made the statements as he received, at his Palace in Riffa today, the Kuwaiti Deputy Premier and Foreign Affairs Minister, Shaikh Sabah Al-Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, with whom he reviewed ways to bolster bilateral cooperation, and discussed regional and global issues of mutual interest. Shaikh Sabah Al-Khalid conveyed to HRH the Prime Minister greetings from the Kuwaiti Amir, HH Shaikh Sabah Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Crown Prince, HH Shaikh Nawaf Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and counterpart, HH Shaikh Nasser Al-Mohammed Al-Sabah, as well as their wishes of abundant health and happiness to him, and of further progress and prosperity to Bahrain and its people. HRH Premier requested Shaikh Sabah Al-Khalid to convey his greetings to the Kuwaiti Amir, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and his wishes of more progress and welfare to the Kuwaiti leadership and people. "Kuwait and its brotherly people enjoy a special place in the hearts of all Bahrainis. Bahrain and Kuwait enjoy common history, and are linked by bonds of love, kinship, fraternity and shared goals and destiny," the Premier said. HRH the Prime Minister hailed Kuwait’s development achievements in various fields, lauding Kuwaiti Amir's efforts and initiatives in serving humanity and the joint Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) action. HRH Premier pointed out that relations between the two brotherly countries enjoy the support and care of their leaderships, which, he said, embodies their keen desire to enhance bilateral relations in order to achieve more complementarity and cooperation that cover all fields, and to meet the expectations of the two brotherly peoples. The Prime Minister expressed appreciation to sisterly Kuwaiti for its contributions to enhancing the kingdom’s development march, welcoming efforts to consolidate Kuwaiti investments in Bahrain, and endeavours to build more economic, commercial and investment partnerships aimed at boosting growth in the two countries. HRH Premier asserted that strengthening bilateral relations between GCC countries is essential in enhancing joint GCC action and achieving the GCC goals of complementarity and unity. The Kuwaiti deputy premier expressed sincere thanks and appreciation to HRH the Prime Minister for his unwavering interest in supporting the deep-rooted relations between the two brotherly countries, and for his strong love for Kuwait and its people. He affirmed that HRH Premier enjoys a distinguished position in the hearts of Kuwaiti citizens in recognition of his tremendous efforts and contributions to consolidating bilateral relations and pushing joint GCC action forward. It is also in recognition of HRH Premier’s wisdom and deep vision on the region’s developments, and the need to strengthen cooperation and complementarity among brotherly countries, he said. Shaikh Sabah Al-Khalid asserted that the Kuwaiti-Bahraini relations are a role model to be emulated by the coming generations regarding the depth of those ties which, he said, have always been based on high-level of understanding and coordination to achieve the common interests of the two brotherly peoples.
